My boy Jon, put out his new album earlier today. One of the catchiest, most talented albums I’ve heard in a while.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons chronicles the journey of two brothers to find the cure for their dying father. This is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. The vibrant, picturesque landscapes really draw you into this fantasy universe. But, not only is the landscape and scenery beautiful, the story is one of the most breathtaking plots I have ever experienced. To delve deeper into the story would do the player a disservice. The game itself is very simple; each brother is controlled by either analog stick, and you traverse the vast world in this way. The puzzles in the game aren’t difficult, but are still very enjoyable. Brothers truly showcases that two siblings share.
The game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a standout title that sets itself apart from just about every other game out there through its fantastic storytelling and unique execution. This game is a journey in every sense of the word, taxing you both emotionally and physically. How does it go about accomplishing such a task without the use of actual dialogue, you ask? It’s all done through three things, kids. Those things are the game’s visually impressive and constantly changing environments, the game’s unique control style, and the emotion conveyed through the characters vocalizations and actions. This game breaks new ground in its use of the controls to tell a story. While progressing through the game, you can physically feel the growing bond between these two brothers as your hands become more in tune with the control style. I more adeptly solved the various puzzles that I stumbled upon in my journey across the games increasingly darkening landscapes, which lead our two brothers farther and farther away from their home. Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons is as upfront as a game can get with its player. It tells you what you are getting right in its title; a wonderful tale of two sons.
